I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I bet you think I'm Cuban, right? Well, kind of. Actually my mother is Colombian, my father is Puerto Rican and ever since I was a baby I've been surrounded by an awesome Cuban family that fed me Picadillo, Lechon Asado, and black beans made from scratch, yo! Not out of a can!
I speak fluent Spanish. Hola, yo me llamo Luis. See? I told you. Sto imparando il italiano! That means: I'm studying Italian. Which I am, by the way.
I studied theatre in college at the performing arts conservatory New World School of the Arts in Miami and received a BFA from the University of Florida.
After college, I took my original one-person show, Jackpot, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Got a four-star review from The Scotsman, the Scottish national newspaper! I traveled throughout Europe after the run.
I now live in Los Angeles and spend much of my time improvising. I am a graduate of the iO West and Upright Citizens Brigade training centers.
I am also on the wait-list for Writing Lab at The Groundlings.
I play on the iO West House team, them. We perform weekly at iO West in the Del Close Theater in Hollywood . I also play with Love Handles (a four-person group with Sarah McLean, Sophia Antzoulatos and Jeff Maccubbin) and SSP (a 2-person team w/ Lauri Roggenkamp).
Oh, yeah, one more thing: I played a killer on Spike TV's show, Murder.
